Date of Loss: 5 year period to current (2006)
Size of Loss: 1138 Laptops
Affected Individuals: Seems like everyone…
Geographic Focus: All over the USA
Data contained: various information including loan package details for Katrina victims, DoB, SSN, addresses, etc.
Additional Notes:
- 672 missing laptops, of which 246 contained some degree of personal data;
- 107 of these laptops were fully encrypted;
- 139 were either partially encrypted or had no encryption;
- of the missing laptops involving PII, almost half of the unaccounted laptops were stolen (104), often from employees’ vehicles, and another 113 were not returned from former employees; and
- 46 thumbdrives, all of which were fully encrypted and protected by systemic safeguards.

Additional Notes:Â The data was compromised from two stolen computers. nly one of the computers was password protected.

Affected Individuals: Individuals who were caught by the “Red Light Camera Enforcement Programâ€
Geographic Focus:Â Savannah, Georgia
Data contained: name, address, driver’s license number, vehicle identification number, and SSNs of those individuals whose driver’s license number is still the SSN.
Additional Notes:Â Information kept on a server was accessed by internet search engines. Confidential vehicle registration information was inadvertently exposed. (for approx. 6 months)
